Hiya, newbie here so im sorry if this has been posted before.
Im just looking for some advice please.
Ive left my last job for another job but when i went to start at the new job, the employer informed me that the position was no longer available. I was stuck so shamefaced i had to go beg for my old job back but they refused to give it me, they dont rehire employees apparantely.
Neway i managed to get jobseekers and have had it for 2 months but i had a letter today saying they are stopping my jobseekers because i left my old job voluntarily. So now me and my partner have to live off £46 a week. Has anyone had their money stopped but managed to get it back?
Also im not workshy and the only reason im not working is that i start college in a few weeks so does anyone know of any work that i can do in the meantime? pref from home.
Im sorry if this is longwinded but im just really confused and stuck

I am not to sure abt Jobseekers, but I am on income support, i left my job, and had no problem!! As to the employer, this makes me so mad, the same thing happened to me a few weeks ago, thought i had job, then i didnt, lucky that i didn't have an employer to tell i was leaving!! Have you tried the Citizens advice?0

You have the right to appeal and I would suggest that you do this quickly as there is a 28 day time limit.
You may find it best to ask for a reconsideration first and provide evidence to support the circumstances about the job ending.
Have you a letter from the 'new' employer' offering you the job ?
Have you got a record of communications with the 'new' employer ?
It may be the case that any new evidence means the decision can be reconsidered without having to go through the full appeal process - which can take a while.
Ask for a DR7 form at the Jobcentre.
Remember however, if you don't provide any new information, the decision is likely to be the same.

ukdickie31 is right but it's actually one calendar month to appeal not 28 days. If you do actually appeal they always reconsider it first anyway. Just gather any evidence about the job you were supposed to be getting even if it means you asking them to write a brief note explaining this. You have a very good chance of the decision being overturned as you had a good reason for leaving your old job.
As it all might take some time you could also now swap claimant roles so your partner becomes the claimant. As with any claim s/he would have to sign on, claim as sick or as a carer to be paid benefit for the two of you.I'll get you, my pretty, and your little dog too!0 -
agree with the last 2 comments, one thing that might help is a copy of your resignation letter if it stated that you were leaving for another job.0
