I love the red button on BBC. A whole evening of watching ice skating from the Olympics and weeks to come :D

It's the team event at the moment. Somehow I don't think GB will make it into the top 5 cut ...

Turns out it wasn't the biggest wave after all (see BBC news website) and take any weather stories from the express with more than a pinch of salt. Forecast is for only 95mph gusts......

The express only has two stories: Princess Diana, and highly over-the-top weather!
Skied well over 40km today. I reached my top speed falling 200m vertically down the steepest slope in the resort without my skis on...

    Ouch. Hope you're OK.

If it is deliberate, then it is a mental health issue and should be treated as such. Particularly as once someone has decided, in poor mental health, that they want out it is only small mental steps away from taking one too many sleeping pills ....

That is so not true, they also have the story about how much your house has gone up whilst reading the article...

I'm surprised it was quite that late - after all, antisepsis ideas kicked in earlier, didn't they?

I remember reading a few years ago somewhere that "blue" as a colour concept was thought to be remarkably modern.

Couldn't agree with you more - "whatever you want, dear" is an infuriating attitude.

Worse still, someone who won't say what she wants, but holds it against people who don't manage to guess in the absence of information.

Why does he have a weak immune system? Is that connected with autistic issues, or is it just a random extra?

For once, no not connected to his autism. He has always had a circulatory problem (what we now know is probably EDS related) and would turn blue when having a bath in a warm bathroom when young, also, with the asthma his body is weakened already and more unable to fight it off effectively.

He also has multiple food intolerances/allergies and a bowel disorder, which all weaken his reserves.

We always knew he was going to be the runt of the litter (so to speak!), he was prem, he developed bronchlioitis (sp?) at a few days old and he also has a growth disorder...at 18 months old, he was the size of a 9 month old. Now at almost 16, he is still to bash through 5ft....he has always had his own little line on the child centile charts, a line he followed perfectly but under all others.

We always joke that he adds a new thing to his list of problems each year, touch wood (very very firmly), he hasn't added a new one for the last two years!
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

So I turned off / pulled the network cables of all the internet enabled devices in the house and now the network and the suspect STB is working ago again....so now my suspicions turn to the kids tablets and all the carp they have installed - I'm thinking a factory reset by they will not be pleased....

In the Victorian era the only three medicines that were suposed to reliably treat anything were rhubarb for constipation.

Youngest would be beggered then, he is very severely allergic to rhubarb, gave the school a right fright when they served rhubarb crumble for lunch one day and he ended up in intensive care a few hours later.

I think it's a mental health issue, and the hospital has doled out some happy pills. Unfortunately, Mirtazapine has a sedating effect in the short term, which is really the last thing we need right now. It ought to start having some positive effects in a week or two. Or three, or four...
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?
