    . It's a choice people make.

To a degree. If we had a kid I would want it to kow its grandparents, such as they are, and its countries of cultural heritage to help it feel 'placed' wherever we lived.

Undoubtedly seat belts are vital but if you are short they may not protect you as much. I am 5ft 1" and they cut into my neck too. So, I am often guilty of tucking it under my arm.

Depends how chavy one is... I've heard stories of people who don't go to tesco collecting clubcard points by picking up unused receipts and going to the customer service desk.

But you'd have to be pretty tight on Martins tightwad test to do that:)

I think picking up receipts is known as "wombling" on other threads. As paper carries germs sounds like a recipe for getting every cold under the sun. Some countries shops have a seprate person to dish out food and to collect money for hygeine reasons.

The problem with seatbelts is they don't come over my shoulder - they cut into my neck, the middle of my neck. If I were in an accident it'd probably break my neck. They are uncomfortable and leave me with a "lovebite" after every long journey.

There are products to relieve this sort of problem.

You can get a booster cushion for short adults to make you sit higher up: http://www.gbdriver.co.uk/adult-seat-comfort-cushion-height-booster

Or you can get a clip to change the angle of the belt so it doesn't cut into your neck: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Car-Seat-Belt-Strap-Adjusters-Support-Clips-Comfort-Safety-Aid-Pk1-/201001888143

Or this one (although I'm not sure why it says it's suitable for back or front seat passengers but doesn't mention drivers): http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_734049_langId_-1_categoryId_261861
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

    Aquafit was great.

I preferred this teacher to the class I watched last week infact. She does a class at another local pool too (we have LOADS of public pools locally ) and this one, and a shorter one at this pool.

It was very fast and she was really more attentive and observant to each of her class members than the other class leader. We chatted afterwards and she told me about her teaching back ground and I was suitably impressed.

Class is really sweet people, friendly, welcoming, invited us for a coffee afterwards.

It wasn't easy but it was fun. :).

Two moments worth sharing. First when I walked in to
The pool wall, thought it was a person and screamed. Have I mentioned I'm highly strung?:o

Second was where we were holding one of the 'weights' between our ankles. Having deposited the other on the side of the pool. Well, everyone apart from for was. He had misunderstood the instruction and was gripping each of his instead between his big and second toe. :rotfl::rotfl:

Everything's got germs... including all the tins and packets and baskets and trolleys inside the shop.

Not to mention all the germs that have fallen onto all the exposed bread and pastries ..... which is why I don't buy them.

Here food servers are not supposed to serve you your food, then take your money, unless they are washing their hands before serving each customner - e.g. burger vans, market stalls, cake shops, etc. It's surprising though how often you see this rule broken.

How is it more dangerous than just shaking hands with people?

I am quite short too, I will have a look at those products as I always have to fight the tendency to stick the belt under my armpits! Thanks.
