Talk Talk 's YouView box can be connected via Scart.

I'm not sure about the Humax one, although it should work. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -

Err, because Freeview will look awful on an old-skool 4:3 CRT screen?0 -
The NOW TV box MAY connect to the round RCA ports if you have those:-
What if I don't have an HDMI port?
If you don't have an HDMI connection on your TV, you're also able to connect to your NOW TV box with a mini-jack to RCA cable. This connection only outputs the US NTSC standard and although compatible with many, it may not be compatible with all UK televisions.

What they said ^
Programs have been widescreen for a long time so the old 4:3 is not good.
I've got two Humax boxes, one Freeview+ and the Youview version. Both have SCART sockets on them so will work with your TV.
I've just tried them using SCART on my flat screen TV and they do work but the picture is a little fuzzy whereas using HDMI it's pin sharp.
Personally I'd get a new TV, not just for the widescreen, HD or SMART functionality but because they take up so much less room while having a larger screen than a CRT.One by one the penguins are slowly stealing my sanity.0 -
Well the OP has described it as 'old style' which presumably means CRT, but we don't know what aspect ratio it has.I_have_spoken wrote: »Err, because Freeview will look awful on an old-skool 4:3 CRT screen?Stompa0 -
op may have a 16x9 CRT telly, heavy! That gum you like is coming back in style.0

Many later CRT TV's were 16:9. Mine is and so was the one I had before it.
If possible, avoid composite video and try and get RGB scart. With decent cabling, the picture is so much better. No lousy blurring on CRT TV's lmao.
You can get hdmi converters but they do tend to be a bit expensive and are probably not worth the cost.
Have any of you LCD or LED which is the same basic thing with different backlighting, screen owners watched any skiing recently? I pmsl when I saw skiing on an LCD screen.0 -
