Awww, Hilstep what a complete total and utter bummer. Life really is kicking you when you're down, isn't it? Major amounts of posi-vibes for you, mate; hang on in there.
Redruby glad to hear the woofer got through her op; healing vibes continuing to be sent for her.
Mr LW has a new phone - first time he's had one of those touch-screen ones, and he can't figure out how to use it.:D He had a text from Oh Two asking if he wanted to upgrade his phone, and they were able to offer him a new phone, a reduced monthly tariff, unlimited texts, and twice the number of minutes he had before, so what's not to like?:money: His pal has a similar phone, so we may well be calling on him for lessons.:DIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -

Morning all,
Hilstep. So sorry to hear your news. We will be thinking of you in your absence.
Tru I think my daughter is amazing too. She has never shown any interest in babies and young children. I could never really imagine her pregnant or a Mother but the love seems to have come from somewhere. She sent me this picture yesterday as they were handing out gifts at a childrens school.
I doubt if I could cope with a baby with AIDS, running the baby house, fund raising and caring for the babies as well as supporting herself financially by working a few hours each day at a health centre caring for people with weak lungs. Both girls work part time hardly ever seeing eachother as one is always at home with the babies.
Jobs to do today, food shopping firstly then if we are up to it I need to get a few bits for hubby to take away with him next week. He's running short of socks and I want to pop into Boots to replace my red lipstick.
Not sure what i'll get done today but we'll see.

Afternoon all,
Hillstep - Gutted, absolutely gutted for you. Sending you ((((big hug))).
TTFTM - I can't believe the homeless shelter wouldn't take them! How stupid.
Been to do the shopping this morning. DH decided we needed to buy some new stemmed glasses in Wilko to use on Xmas day. The thing is we don't drink wine, the only thing we have is Bucks Fizz and only on crimbo day! The rest of the year we never use them. Oh well it keeps him happy. He is a bit anal when it comes to the cupboards and loves to rearrange them into some sort of order - me I just chuck it in :rotfl:
He thought it would be a good idea to buy people actual gifts rather than give them the vouchers they asked for, and while I think the sentiment is good, if people don't actually want physical things at the moment, a voucher is better than a load of carp they don't want! I'd told him he could choose the presents as it was his idea, funny how he changed his mind!
May try to write the christmas cards later. Can't believe we actually had our first two arrive yesterday.
Have a good day0 -
Afternoon everyone
Hilstep - thinking of you - stay strong x
Hugs to all those that are feeling sad/poorly x
Dinner last night was battered chicken pieces, chips and salad for the menfolk, I had a mushroom omelette and salad. Tonight we will be having chicken and prawn curry, rice, veg curry, and accompaniments, poppadums and naans.
Yesterday was a bit disjointed and didn't get as much done as I would have liked.
Wanted to get up early this morning, when DH got up to go to work stupid early, but woke up went to the bathroom - got back into bed to have "5 more minutes" - fatal mistake! - didn't then wake up nearly 7am and I wanted to be up and on my way out of the door for 7.45am - to go to the next town to get some more xmas shopping done. But did manage to get out the door before 8am. I like to get away early as the next town has great shops but it's a bit of nightmare to get into and getting parked - but didn't queue at all and the car park was virtually empty. Quite a lot of the shops were already open and empty so was able to get a good start before it got busy - in fact whilst I was there it didn't get busy - I think it's a sign of the state of the economy especially around here. I got the other prezzies that I wanted to get, so now I only have 1 x nephew to buy for, 1 friend, then both my boys some more bits, they both know they won't be getting much on the day as DS1 is having driving lessons and DS2 is going to Barcelona next year - so they are having those for part xmas and birthday prezzies. Need to get DH something too, looked at some lovely jumpers/sweaters but the style this year is all round necks or roll necks and he hates those and wouldn't wear it - so will have to have a look about to see what else I can get. I was really pleased to with my purchases today - I don't think I paid full price for anything - everything had different % knocked off the prices - so didn't spend as much as I thought I was going to.
We're going to visit DH's grandad and aunt tomorrow - when we were talking last night we realised that if we don't go tomorrow we don't have any free weekend time this side of xmas to go - so have got some meat out of the freezer which is now defrosting - and I'll put that in the slow cooker in the morning with all the other bits and gravy and then whatever time we get back we'll have a meal ready for us and I'll do us a roast on Wednesday when it's my half day instead.
Have a good weekend everyone x
Keep safe and well x

Hilly - praying and thinking of you and your family xxI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
Hilly, so sorry to hear your news, I'll keep you in my thoughts.

When we were in Nottingham last week I visited The Bead Shop, and BF spotted kits for Safety Pin bracelets, so encouraged me to buy one because he thought they looked fab. It was only £3.75 and you get everything you need in the kit. I've sat and made it this morning. Only took me an hour and I love the results!! Think I may make some more to sell on my craft stall! I have one booked for 1st March so plenty of time!
Hope everyone has a good day :-)
Have you got a pic?0 -
Hillstep, sorry about your news, sending positive thoughts xx0
