Considering buying the £8 one in Asda that does meet most of the requirements...looking after it all day, then returning it to Asda and gettting a refund!
That's cheating.Proud to have become an Ocean Rower in 2010 (crossed the Atlantic in a crew of 4 ladies and had the best 77 days of my life!)0 -

Is it? If Asda will take back the product with their no quibble guarantee and Alton Towers don't want to keep the gnome, then I don't see its a problem.
What do others think?Who made hogs and dogs and frogs?

First time post, so please forgive me if its wrong
bylromarha I have just returned from a great day at Alton Towers after gaining free admission with the £8.95 gnome ( one with pick ). I then got a locker for it at £3 and have just returned it to Asda. So it really was a freebie
I just paid for the locker and parking
There was no problem getting in with the gnome. Also one of the staff said that there is a guy in the village before you get to alton towers selling gnomes from the back of his van for £4 so you could stop there if you see him.
One more bit of Info from the staff if you are up for a laugh. They are having a Sound Of Music week soon and if you come dressed as a Nun you get in free. He told me to keep checking the website for the actual week0 -
My gnomes bore no resemblance to the descriptions..............get down to poundland!!A shadowy flight into the dangerous world of a man who does not exist.

the helpless, the powerless, in a world of criminals who operate above the law.0 -

Went today and my gnomes were too short and made of plastci. No probs getting in at all...and no touts visable either.
Daz- it is a completely free entry on production of the gnome. Not BOGOF. We stood at the pay window all together, showed our 4 gnomes and got 4 complimentary tickets issued. No credit card saw the light of day.
Had a grand day, although the essential costs added up, like car park charges and diesel. Also took M6 toll road to make sure we got there for 9.30 as recommended by staff when I rang.
BTW toll road charge going up by 50p for cars. Fun!Who made hogs and dogs and frogs?

Re Gnomes at Alton Towers : we went yesterday Friday 20th gnomes in hand and were a little worried as we were the only people carrying gnomes (we were quized by loads of passengers as to why we were carrying gnomes) as soon as we got off the monorail we were met by Alton Towers greeters and taken into the park the gnomes stayed in customer services and came home with us great day!!!!0

we were there today. no gnome touts in sight but there was a BOGOF ticket tout. only saw one person with a gnome out of a massive queue to get through the gates. we've got passes but went with a big bunch of lads in their 20's and none of them would try the gnome thing, too embarassed about being turned away!
nice to see the park decorated with gnomes, they were on all the grassy areas, along the riverbank (a baby ride behind squirrel nutty) - even on islands populated by ducks. very sweet :-) i don't know if all those gnomes had been discarded or were part of AT's own decoration programme but at least half were dwarf types, not meeting the specifications.52% tight0
