What pension scheme is Police 999 staff under?

Are you asking for someone? When you start working for the Civil Service (I work for English Heritage) you are given a pack that explains all this.

Ill explain better, my bad.

I am a civil servant at the moment. Taking VER exit scheme leaving March 2014.

I have applied for Police 999 contact call centre at Lewes HQ. Got through to interview stage which is this Thursday.

As part of my exit package I will have to pay back all my exit package money if I go with an employer that has the same Civil Service pension scheme that I am on at the moment. I have phoned my works HR and the Police HR and none of them can give me a 100% answer.

No, the police service has a separate scheme.

Civilian police staff and warranted officers are in different schemes.

I went from the Kent 999 call center into the Home Office.

Whilst with Kent Police, I was paying into the Local Government Pension Scheme. When I joined the Home Office I started paying into Nuvos.

I ask because if they are part of the 'Civil service pension scheme' then I won't go for the job because I will have to pay back my redundancy as part of my contract to leave the DWP.

So my question is do the Police staff in the call centres have a 'Civil service' pension scheme?

Im terrible with all this, its all a bit above me. Would this be the same as my pension? Its called a 'Civil service' pension scheme.

IME police staff are in the LGPS, except for some odd reason Met Police staff who are in the civil service scheme

Hi Andy, what does this mean to me? Im confused does this mean they are same pension as me or not? Whats LGPS?

Hey don't be rude. I have course looked on google. I can't find anything out about it. As I have already said I have no idea on pensions. I just need a straight answer, do they have the same pension as me or not?:)
