Following on from KayJays post and from having a look and using a small amount of knowledge I have it depends whether the organisations are part of the redundancy Modification order (1999). If both organisations are then you may have to forfeit some of your payment.
From a quick google these links would suggest the Civil Service is not part of this order:
(Under the part which bodies are on the order) http://www.local.gov.uk/web/guest/employment-relations/-/journal_content/56/10180/3510617/ARTICLE#contents-10
and
(under the part What is an 'associated employer' and how do I find out more?) http://www.fifedirect.org.uk/topics/index.cfm?fuseaction=faq.display&subjectid=E3E29C18-E02F-4ED5-81B9A50390CE0732&faqid=CD3079CC-0419-13FA-D84085D297031726&print=true
But its worth googling more and looking into this more as it may not be quite as simple as it sounds!!0 -
Thank you all. The interview would have been tomorrow but I decided I am probably not quite ready for a job like that. So I applied for their Office Admin which looks perfect for me as its just the same as I do now! I have an interview next Thursday! So if I do get it will be asking my employer for more info. I think by the info you guys have given me I should be able to take my payout and have not have it effect it if I was to get the job! Fingers crossed, would be a lovely!0

Good luck with the interview, and I suspect that the 999 jobs will come up on a fairly regular basis if/when you think you're ready for them.0
