  • Poundland is good. They have little bags of Costa coffee at 2 for £1 and my sister is forever finding branded make up in there. In Pound world she managed to find Barry M! Wilkinsons do some good gift sets, many on 2 for £8 and bath bits that you can make you own sets up with. I find amazon good for cheap DVDs. If you go on Granger Games or CEX you can get pre-owned and some new DVDs and games at decent prices.

  • Junior is a 2nd yr student and we've told him to take us out for a meal at our local 2 for 1 eatery.

I did warn him though that when he's earning mega bucks, my present epectations will increase lol!

My daughter is a 1st year student and has had to spend very little this year - for most of the close family she has found nice photographs of them with her and her sister and put them in frames from £land. The photos were free prints from Photo box. For a few others she has made pots of gold - a glass filled with chocolate coins with a couple of scratch cards slipped down the side and then has wrapped them in film tying them off with ribbon.

I hope the family will be pleased with the thought she has put in!

Call me a cynic but this strikes me as the first post in a spamming attempt.

You may well be right, but in case other students are reading...

...its too late for this year, but I'm a member of several survey/review writing sites. I save up the amazon voucher rewards throughout the year and use them for birthday/Christmas presents. I hardly ever have to use 'real' money.
  • Maybe she could participate in a gift exchange...like "secret Santa" instead of having to buy a gift for multiple people?
Be thankful for what you have; you'll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don't have, you will never, ever have enough. ♥

Buying sweets is always a good idea! Everyone likes them and would be happy to receive as a present. You may choose them depending on how much money your daughterhas.
