Email Delete Problem

When I delete emails on one computer they are still on my new windows 8 laptop. I have transferred my bt yahoo account over to the new laptop but none of them have been deleted. Why is this?

Maybe it uses POP3 as opposed to IMAP - check how you're connecting.0

Could be the protocol (POP3 vs IMAP) or maybe your email client is set to retain emails that have been deleted from the server. Maybe there's an option like "Delete emails that have been deleted from server" or something similar...?0
