See if you can get in touch with someone at the registered address, they won't be in Australia that for sure.Be Alert..........Britain needs lerts.0

If you are going to buy a van or indeed car from somebody trying to avoid his legal responsibilities and are fairly confident arounds vehicles
Then go to the auction and save some money
BCA do commercials sales
And Merthy Motor Auctions have a nice selection of used commercials and due to being geographically some distance from London prices are much better most of the time
I know a bloke that sources all the Ambulances for his Private Ambulance Co from there. They may need scuffs and dents seen to but that is why they are cheaper than retail. Keep the savings for repairs0 -

All good advice IMO.
I have bought quite a few cars from auction (BCA Paddock Wood), and a few of my mates get me to tag along with them when they want a "new" van.0 -

I would just be asking - why, why, why - and then walk away.
My dad bought a car years ago, and never saw the registered keeper once, it was all done through a "friend". He got really upset when I voiced my concerns about the whole deal, including the part where the guy who sold it to him, drove the car to my dad's place (he never saw the keeper'd residence at any point), and all the paperwork, handing over the money (cash) was completed there. The guy then took the bus home, refusing a lift.
You couldn't make it up.
did the car turn out dodgy though?
For me, someone who is 60 miles away is hardly a 'close mate' you'd trust with this sort of thing though.
Pass it up, plenty out there. What if there was no such thing as a rhetorical question?0 -
google his mobile or the number you got on GT, probably fetch more for sales cars etc. sounds like a small time trader to me.It was advertised on gumtree.
And the registered keepers address in around 60 miles from the person selling it.
I think it is probably a small time trader selling the van, as the yellow part of the v5 is missing!
I have checked the vehicle out and it match's the v5, and have done a vehicle check and it has not been reported stolen.
Thanks for the help!0 -
As the yellow slip is gone (transferred to trade) I think you misheard that he said "I'm selling for an old cobber down under"; instead he said, I'm going to talk any amount of cobblers to get rid of this shed.0
