Tesco Clubcard Boost

Hello,
Are other forum users aware that to be in the clubcard boost scheme there is a minimum nos of Tesco points required?

My friend calculated I had £45 worth of points, so with excitement I called Tesco to confirm the amount I could spend on clubcard boost, I was informed I needed to have spent £250 pounds to be eligible ( I had only spent £200) !!!!

The customer adviser laughed when I asked what happens to the points I have acquired & informed me that people often spend £1,000 a month at Tesco's. !!!!

I do not have £1.000 to spend in Tesco's every month & I am
annoyed that I have been treated like a nobody.

I was advised to put the points on someone else's card
to boost their number of points!!!

The only thing I get from Tesco are useless money off coupons
for items I do not buy.

As a relatively new customer I feel let down by Tesco.

I don't think there is. I only had £5 voucher which I then boosted to £10.

I spend very little in Tesco, probs £30-£40 a month max. What does it say on your receipts where it shows the clubcard balance and what does it show when you log into your clubcard account? Also, how did your friend calculate that you had £45 worth of vouchers owing?

I think you have been mis-informed, you can swap £5 vouchers and boost them: http://www.tesco.com/clubcard/deals/

Have your points been converted to vouchers yet? You can't boost the points.

As both of above posters have already said.

I do not think you quite understand how the scheme works.

Also there are other ways of increasing the number of points you can earn by recycling cans, phones, ink cartridges and buying products with extra points. etc.

Sounds correct - if you spend £250 in Tesco then you'd accumulate 250 points/a £2.50 Clubcard voucher, which I believe is the minimum boost (doubled to a £5 voucher). Spending £200 would only accumulate you 200 points/£2 which cannot be boosted.

Did you friend mean that you had spent £45 in Tesco - which would only entitle you to 45 points (equiv. 45p, too small for them to send a voucher).

  • You need to have 500 points in your account to boost instore (ie. £500 spend instore as £1 = 1 point). You can only boost in £5 voucher multiples, but any points extra, say you had a £5.50 voucher for example, the 50p extra points would go back onto your next statement.

You may be able to boost a £2.50 voucher online, but I'm not sure.

I'm sorry the lady you spoke to was like that, she could have been a bit more helpful.

Sorry to hijack this thread but is tesco points really only 1p per point? So with my tesco credit card I get 1 point per £4 spend? That's only £2.50 back per £1000 spend?

Yes, that's equivalent to a 0.25% cashback, in a roundabout way. Shopping in Tesco stores, you'd also get 1 point per £1.

Last week, the on-line system let me boost a £2 clubcard voucher. So it looks like the limit is lower for on-line shopping.
    If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.

Yes, that's always been the case. Tesco in-store you get 1 pt for every pound, + if you pay with the Tesco Cr Cd., you 1 pt per £4.00 spent per transaction - i.e. £3.99 = 0 pts., £4.00 = 1pt. but this also applies to transactions elsewhere.
I used to work for Tesco - now retired - speciality Clubcard
