i am currently on jsa but now had to go to a new deal interview but the woman came accross a bit of a bully that you must do this or you will not get money, but i when to the docs and told him how i felt, so he gave me a line, changed over my benefits to income support/incapacity benefit, as usually you have to make a new claim, will there be anyother forms i have to fill in, an will i have to go for a medical cause of the depression, and i the new benefit will start from today but if i sign off when i go nxt to the jobcentre will i get money until i sign off

Get a GPs certificate signing you off for depression for as long ahead as he/she is willing
If you can - try and request you set up an appointment to see the disability worker at the JC plus - a decent new deal worker will give you a period of time to establish the type of benefit you should be on and let the claims dovetail so you do not miss any weeks entitlement - in my experience new deal workers vary a lot in how nice they will be - but it is your right to see that worker (they may have a new title these days) to establish whather you should be on JSA - which does require you to be available for work.
That worker should help you through claiming IS - its a daft process now - 20 minute phone call from JC plus then forms with ur info on them come to you - 2 20 - 30 minute interviews at jc plus with forms a week or so later and then a week or twos wait and then bingo hopefully0
