I was given custody and the house but couldn't cope with being out of work so their mother had them back! For years she used that against me so I got my kids all I could afford and this has continued now that they have grown up and each have a kid of their own, even more so now I have grand children! What narks me is that since I've been on here, my eldest DD seems to expect the free food parcels, the other 2 are fine, but I can't help but not give all 3 of them the same. How do I resolve this without upsetting anyone?
Scamps my DS2 expects food/toiletries, and if there is not free food, he expects Tesco's delivery!100 -

they weren't car tyres, too small. I took pictures and OH reckons they are from go Karts.....wonder how so many of them got there though?0 -
:o Same dilemma here - I'm doing Boxing Day buffet for sister's birthday here.
I've defrosted sausagemeat & pastry. But yesterday I bought whoopsied cooked Finest cocktail sausages on B3G1F so have lots of sausages
Normally I add cheese, onion, tomato puree to sausagemeat but this time I was thinking about copying M&S's cranberry sausage rolls as they taste divine.
Pleased to read we can refreeze them.
Oh & must get turkey out to start defrosting too
the M&S's ones sound nice have you got the recipe?
yes I think we can refreeze once cooked but not sure what to do with them when you need to use them after?......do you just defrost them and eat or do you defrost the and pop back in the oven?broke my back doing glitching

I am a great believer in what goes around comes around
my in laws really hated and barely tolerated me, my m-I-l was really horrible particularly after f-Ii-l died and it continued like this for the next 10 years. The b-i-l and his family were her favourites and she barely tolerated me, my OH and our 3 kids so for over 9 years she had nothing to do with us.
Anyway further down the line b-I-l moved abroad having divorced and his kids grown up.
m-I-l had always having medical tests having enjoyed ill health always.
She asked to come for Christmas one year so with many reservations and expecting Christmas to be ruined but I said OK.
It was quite pleasant and we had a nice but unremarkable day and she was on her best behaviour. She had to go early as the pets were on their own all day.
In January she got the diagnosis, by mid Jan she could not walk and was virtually house bound so she was totally depended on us and realising too late what she had missed out on by cutting us out of her life. She was gone within 12 weeks.“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, --will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others, --or to diminish something of their pains.”0 -

The best way to deal with people who are like this is to be incredibly nice to them
- send them an email/text (I would actually write a letter but I'm all old fashioned!)
start by saying how much you love your daughter/grandchildren and that you always valued feedback on the gifts you gave them. Say you are very sorry and must apologise that your Christmas gifts offended her/them and that it was totally unintentional. You were trying to give gifts that you thought might be of use and that would be pampering and that would make them feel loved and cherished and valued but you also had to consider your own time and financial constrains.
As the gifts were unsuitable ask for them to be returned along with all of the other items that you have given her/them over the year that were not to her liking.
Ask her/them to accept your sincere apologies for causing offence and ask for her understanding as it is now too late to source alternative Christmas presents for 2013.
:rotfl:
OMG this would be hilarious, but she is highly likely to take offence! Just stop being generous, stop telling her of the glitches... she will soon be asking for things...then make her sweat a bit!:D:D:D:D
