Was going to make some hampers up with all the goodies from M & S, but can't find any cheap baskets, have searched about 6 charity shops today, they had loads, but stuff in them and wouldn't sell them to me. I have also tried, poundland, home bargains, wilkos, asda. Anywhere else I can try?????

Still catching up, but if no one had other ideas, you could just make a round/oval/square/rectangle base from strong cardboard. Then use cellophane to wrap from under the cardboard, up onto and over the gifts :)

I can't believe my Mum! She's spent a bloody fortune on the Christmas shopping and hasn't even got the turkey yet! Basically she's spent so much we may as well never have had the £75 voucher. She got me loads of cider (we have tons of booze already and I don't really drink) and party food I didn't ask for. The £75 off was supposed to make our shop cheaper but she's overcompensated so much it's just a normal (expensive) shop.

Just when I thought I was getting through to them

Sounds like your mum has had fun and wanted to use the £75 to reward you for all your hard work.
You could always take the cider back and exchange for some things for the food bank.
It will take time to get your mum into the right way of thinking but a £75 voucher has still probably kept the cost down a bit. Prehaps mum is hoping you will get lucky with a big whoopsied turkey.

My only extravagance and the only thing on my mr t order as I will be away, is a nice chateaux Briand. I had a small one last year and was best I have tasted since dad had his butchers shop, so I will use half for steaks and keep other half for dads next visit. My little treat and on order only so no chance of a whoopsie.
