Could you just re-use the outer box that the gift sets were shipped in? Cut off the flaps and maybe cut it down if it is too tall and cover it in Christmas paper? Or fruit crates from the market or maybe Lidl etc?

This was my last resort, if I couldn't find any cheap baskets, got some lovely big ones last year from Poundland, but none to be found this year.
