What was the marquee for? shame its made you feel like that:(
It was for a charity event at the local football club, carols on the pitch. We swore last year that we would not do it again, but as the marquee is owned by the badminton club we do it fairly cheaply for charity.
They were ungrateful, everyone else at the club was "busy" (like we didn't have better things to be doing ) and this time they damaged it too.
It is just too much hassle for no thanks. What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -

Poundland have a nice screwdriver set which fits into a pen shaped thing - very neat.
Aldi have a useful mini multi tool set.
Aldi also had nice posh specialist ales in a box for £2 each - ideal for hampers
In fact a lot on this list can be found in poundlandThings every man needs (even if he doesnt know it)
Rigger gloves £2.80 These are cheaper than B&Q and good quality, but also cheap enough to not worry about.
http://www.screwfix.com/p/mechanical-hazard-superior-rigger-gloves-black-yellow-large/37195
Duct tape - £3.69 There is nothing you cannot do with duct tape. Seriously. Mythbusters made a plane out of the stuff.
Car wash sponge £0.35 - get two, or three...

A small torch - Try pound shop
Tape measure - try pound shop
Socks
Underwear
little screwdriver set
Book
Music - cheap cd's/ downloads
DVD - loads of cheap ones about
ear plugs
nail file
Shoe laces
a nice photo of the wife/kids/car etc. (I am sure you can find one to print for his wallet)
Another really good idea is some home made gift vouchers. You can do things like -
one night off of the washing up
The Remote control for 3 hours
breakfast in bed
your shirts ironed
a night pass out
A massage (other saucy options are available)
Etc.
But you can do it with your own jokes and add in little sub clauses e.g. 3 hours with the remote control must be booked 4 days in advance and cannot be taken whilst Emmerdale or Coronation street or any other "special" programme is being broadcast.Valid from one use only from 25th Dec 2013 to 8th Jan 2013. Not valid Sundays. Cannot be used in conjuction with any other offer. This voucher is the property of Savvy Sal and has a nominal value of £0.01p.
You get the idea.
You can spend a little time thinking them up and making them personal to you.“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, --will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others, --or to diminish something of their pains.”0 -

SSM Have you done your xmas shopping yet?
I managed to get stocking fillers and wrapped them up! But no big presents. Ordered a tablet from Carphone warehouse, 99 with 15 back from Amex. Just need a phone, shoes, blue tooth thingymebob, and god knows what else... I am delegating this to OH whilst I am away!
I bought DS3 GF perfume, a make up bag (with benefit lippy) and a BS gift set. I was going to get a pandora bracelet, but DS3 said that when they were advertised she had poo pooed them as being a 'tacky symbol of ..... ' I just remind myself that she is 16 and whilst not posh she is from a very wealthy family.
I have enough butter to sink the titanic.... but I have started food shopping. I am off work on Christmas Eve (the first for 10 years) so I will shop then... whilst bitting my nails!
I keep looking at my windows and thinking of your clean ones! But I have no intentions of cleaning!
So I think the term is that I am winging it this Christmas!
Hey ho!
Hows your preparation going? I have it in my head that you are organised (come visit my house please).:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D
