Hooking up HDR to tv with Sky+box

Hi there, hope someone can help as this is driving me nuts!
We recently cancelled our sky subscription to save cash, and since then have continued to watch tv through the sky box as we dont have a regular tv aerial (really poor signal as at the bottom of a hill).
However, we needed/wanted a means of recording, so bought a TVonics HDR, figuring we could run the sky box through it.
But we cant work out how!
The sky+ box has one scart output. The hdr has a scart socket and several hdmi sockets. The tv has one scart socket and one hdmi.
Any ideas? Please tell me it's possible!

Why not get a freesat pvr?0

model number of the hdr box so someone can check the inputsMansion TV. Avoid at all cost's :j0

Thanks. Hdr model number is dtr-z500hd.
Maybe we should have gone for a freesat box but they are more expensive and we thought this option would be more flexible if we moved house (I.e. get a normal tv aerial, rather than relying on a dish) .

Looking at the manual on-line, the dtr-z500HD is a Freeview+HD PVR - it will only record from an aerial signal (i.e. Freeview), not from any other connected device.
You need to return it and get a Freesat PVR (and just put that in place of the Sky box).0 -
Right, so you've got a Sky+ and a Freeview+. The Sky+ will only record from a satellite dish, and a Freeview+ will only record from an aerial.
I very much doubt you're getting any useful channels through your Sky box that you can't get through Freeview.
So keep the Freeview+ and connect it to the aerial, or replace both these boxes with a Freesat+HD box - Humax <freetime> is meant to be good.
Faffing around with 2 boxes to record, even if you had the right box, is a load of hassle.0 -
Could try rf out on the sky box to aerial in on the dvr. Spend £50 on scart to hdmi converter (not very good). Or buy a new sat box with hdmi out or as said, return dvr and freesat+ recorder
dvr you have is 117 on amazon, for £12 extra they do a 320gb freesat+ made by manhattan, no idea if that is a good make or notMansion TV. Avoid at all cost's :j0 -
PVRs only record from their built in tuners. Whether these are satellite or terrestrial. They do not have external inputs. That gum you like is coming back in style.0
