Long story short my partner had issues getting maternity pay and it took 3 months to sort.

My Vanquis went over its limit and I was unable to pay it for two months. Kept them informed. My card expired i got the money through and paid the card down a lot back under the limit. Called them and double checked that I could have a new card and keep the account going. Setup and in full direct debit etc states I have full credit limit online. Called Vanquis today after three people told me the card is active but it won't work was also told one I paid the full balance it would be unblocked so did and was told it nots blocked.

Suprise, suprise today I am told they are closing the account. After 3 people told me it would stay open.

I have made a compliant and they have 48 hrs to call me but I understand they may look to close it after it went over its limit etc but the fact they said they wouldn't and so I paid more money than I wanted so I could, order some Xmas presents online is bugging me.

Were do I stand?

Nowhere really. The agents may have made a mistake or just given you what they thought would happen. The account closure will have been a risk decision.

At the end of the day, it's their money and they can choose not to lend to you.
