House buy - solicitor extra searches

Hi all,
We are in the process of buying a house. House is a 6 year old detached.
Solicitor is asking about environmental search and water drainage search. Do people think these are worth it? Council maintain a contaminated land registry which is empty.
Also do people think a survey other than the basic one, would be useful?
Any thoughts welcome.
Mike

You could wait for the Local Land Search result to come in and see if there's anything there that makes you think that an extra search would be useful.
With a 6 year old house there should be the NHBC Certificate I think so a basic survey should be fineCurrently studying for a Diploma - wish me luck
