Newlyn debt recovery 28 day wait will mean court.

Options
I forgot to display my blue badge at meadowhall Sheffield got a ticket and had 2 telephone conversations with vendor about needing approx a month to pay it off in full.
Both conversations were ignored and debt passed to newlyn and costs added.I have contacted newlyn via email 3 times with an offer of £5 per week all have recieved no reponse. Yesterday was 2 days since my 1st email sent so I have called asked them why no response.!All they were interested in was to get me to sort it out now verbally and I refused as I had made submissions in writing I informed them I would like a response in writing to my email.
I was then informed that it would take 28 days to make a decision and respond but due to this waiting time it will be escalated to court for ccj
can they do this?

During the first part of this escapade when I spoke to the vendor I made the second call to them because on the date I had agreed to pay I couldnt do so online as they had passed the debt to Newlyn. They informed me they had no record of my first call and to be honest at the time I got a the feeling that as soon as they realised I wasnt going to pay in full they stopped listening to me.

    Oh dear

The first rule, is never talk to these cretins on the phone, look what they have done!!

NOW STAY OFF THE PHONE TO THEM

No it cant just be escalated to court for a ccj, what utter garbage they have told you and why on earth were you evening offering them money in the first place.

Dont contact them any further, dont think about offering them money for which they are not due, ignore anything from them, you only need to come back here should you receive court papers from Northampton (which you wont),

Now does that make sense and do you understand you dont need to pay nor do you need to ring them?!!!!

Meadowhall. Isn't that infested by Parking Control Management (PCM)? When you say "vendor" do you mean PCM?

Newlyn are lying to you and trying to con you.

Need a few more details like date you were in the car park and dates that you got various letters before I can agree with KIL's advice to ignore.

As PCM have passed this on to newlyn it is well past the popla stage,

They could write to meadowhell, but they are soon at the end of the letter chain

You are obviously not well off, you are obviously not in the best of health, you therefore are a prime target for unscrupulous scammers.

You made a minor human error, the type any of us do, why should you have to dig into your pocket to pay someone, who suffered no loss whatsoever, £100? Write to the company, write to every company connected with the car park, write to your local paper, write to Trading Standards, write to your local councillor, write to your M.P., KICK !!!!.

If they call or write to you tell them that you are withdrawing your offer and taking advice from the Internet fora, Tell them to go forth and multiply.
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.

SchoolRunMum there is Coupon-Mad here. She'll no doubt be able to point you to one of her Equality Act letters which you will be able to ammend and pop right off to Meadowhall.

I do post as SchoolRunMum but would suggest the very best person to help this naive (sorry!) OP who actually tried to PAY(!) is trubster. He's the Meadowhall expert and has the email addresses of the people who run the place.

Trubster also posts on here. Davidslad666 should send him a pm with a link to this thread and I am sure trubster will tell him what's what - and it does NOT involve paying a scammer for THEIR Equality Act breach.

Unbelievable that you tried to pay!
