Hi all, hoping any plumbers or gas safe guys can answer this. I have a Baxi DuoTec combi 28HE, my mate has just moved into a new house with a Main Combi 24HE. Now there seems very little difference externally aside from colour and mine having a flap over the controls, but when mine starts up from cold or after an extended off period, it runs the pump only for about 3 mins then the fan kicks in and the boiler fires, and the boiler "flue noise" as I call it, just the fan expelled steam I suppose, I can hear through double glazed windows.
My mate's Main Combi, when I turned it on from being off at the mains, it literally just fired, I heard "click, click, click, click, whoomph" for want of a better description.
What is the difference between the two boilers? The Main was very cheap in comparison, so what makes my Baxi superior?
