Nationwide Extra Swift Charge 3 months after

Hi need some info, basically Nationwide has taken a small amount of money from my account, when i asked them what it was I was told

I can confirm that the debit of £££ from your account on 05/11/13, is an additional charge advised by the beneficiary bank for your SWIFT payment sent on 15/07/13 to (My Name), National Australia Bank Limited.

now I want to know why after 4 months my bank here in australia can tell my bank in the Uk to take more money from me after the first charge which I payed and for what reason, has the exchange rate not gone in their favour or what, its got my back up really bad because no other company would try to charge you extra 3 months after the event but because my bank has my money they can do what they please

Maybe I misunderstand, but I don't think your bank in Australia has asked the Nationwide 4 months later to charge you more money.

You authorised a transaction, I presume. That transaction incurs a charge by the receiving bank to the paying bank. The Nationwide now have received the details of that charge and so applied it to your account.

People have up to 6 years in the UK to claim money they are owed.
