Black beetles(?) on comfrey
Noticed yesterday that some tiny black beetles(?) had hatched out of a cluster of white eggs under one of the leaves on my comfrey plant. Any ideas what they are? Have tried googling but not helped. Just want to know if they're friend or foe, although they've probably dispersed all over my plants by now!

Any chance of a pic?0

Thanks Solomon_Broad. Have tried, but they're too tiny for my camera to show - just comes out as a fuzzy blob. They're quite rounded and seem to have a thin stripe either side. They've spread out over the plant now - doesn't seem to be any damage. Just intrigued as to what they are as I've never seen them before (doesn't mean they haven't been there before).0

Are they doing any damage? Nibbling leaves, etc?0

Thanks Superdog - no, not ladybird larvae. Very small, black/brown, round and shiny. Thanks Solomon-Broad, no signs of damage so far.0

I think they're flea beetles and they are a pest. If it's what I've got they eat loads of little holes in my lettuce leaves. Don't know what to do about them other than chemicals - which I don't want to use on edibles.Just call me Nodwah the thread killer0
