Heres a puzzling situation that I hope someone can help me with.
Sometimes my broadband connection (EFH) is so slow I may as well be using a dialup connection, except when I am using the telephone.
If I watch my connection speed sometimes its too slow to register anything, if I them make a phone call the speed will shoot off the graph.
I have checked everything, (I think) even to changing the router, all to no avail.
Unfortunately I cant spend all day talking on the telephone just to get a decent broadband connection.
Help, please.

Which broadband provider you using?
Could be dodgy connections behind the faceplate.. you told your ISP about the problem?[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]"The internet is a great way to get on the net."

My ISP is EFH Broadband, I phoned them to complain and thats when I first noticed that the connection speed shot up when I was on the phone. Ive tried again since and every time I use the phone the connection speed is spot on.
By the way, where exactly is the "faceplate"?
Thanks0 -
Its the main socket for your line.. usually has a BT logo in the top left corner (or bottom right if upside down
)
By the sounds of things though you're not familiar with that, so I wouldnt advise unscrewing them all. Just ring EFH again and tell them there must be a line problem and you'd like an engineer to come look
The only other idea i've got is... are you using an ADSL Filter? A BT branded one or unbranded cheaper one?
If the latter option some of them can be VERY dodgy![FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]"The internet is a great way to get on the net."

Problem now solved.
Replaced the telephone handset, perfect connection.
Faulty telephone handset was preventing an internet connection.
Thanks for everyones suggestions.0 -

maybe it was causing noise on the line or stealing bandwidth.0

If it was filtered properly it shouldn't affect it?0
