Another company just like Direct Line saying:-
"Well, we're sorry that you're leaving us. Would you consider staying if we beat the new companies price?"...
"Er no... you had your chance. You should have offered me a better price in the first place"
IDIOTS!!!

Don't all service companies do this? They won't reduce your price if you are happily paying it year after year. Why would they? They would make less profit!0

I agree with the OP having recently left Npower when they raised our duel fuel charge to £194 a month - then readily agreed that it should be around £160 tops when I complained. If they cared so much about us staying they wouldn't rip you off in the first place, but we then get the automatically generated "we're sorry you're leaving us" email pleading with us to keep their shareholders in champagne. While I accept that they're in the business of making money (and the discussion of whether fuel providers should be in such a market is for another time) this humanisation of what is a computer generated profit maximisation machine makes me slightly cross. And Direct Line are as bad. Still, we're emigrating soon.0

Direct line quote this year - £1124
Cheapest quote so far - £380... with cheaper excess and more extras including full recovery!
Still, they need the extra £744 for the excessive marketing...0 -

The real idiocy here is "cutting your nose off to spite your face" - a true money saver would at least have listened to see if a better offer could be gained.35, semi retired, sun, sand, sea, life is good
When you are done moaning remember that there are people who would love to have your standard of living!0 -

I think this is a bit different as it is not a tariff increase but and increase in the DD amount. Paying £194 would probably put you in credit. If you have your past bills, it is not too difficult to work out the correct DD amount for yourself. However, suppliers should calculate this accurately.Je suis sabot...0 -
Npower strikes again!!
My annual usage this year via Npower has been £1400.
So they've just tried taking my new monthly payment of £945!! (My last one BTW!) Just got myself a lovely £10 bounced direct debit charge!
Idiots!! Tried ringing and there's a 1 1/2hr wait to speak to an operator0
