Well the place next door to where I last rented has been up for sale since August 2004 (that's almost three years), in that time the price has only dropped 30,000 from 770,000 to 740,000. How they think it will sell after all this times beats me and it isn't the only one been on a long time, nearby neighbours have been on between one and two years

i don't think being on the market for a long time is that unusual for houses at the higher end of the market as there are far fewer available buyers and they tend to be very specific in their needs. Although I have to say, three years is excessive!

    Hello again

Probably going slightly off topic here. I read a lot of posts about what people should offer? If you read my previous post in this thread, what do think is the lowest I should accept. I don't want to give my maisonette away but I'm worried that because we're very close to the stamp duty threshold that when we eventually get an offer it could be £125,000. Do you think I'd get away with the full asking price and we'd offer to pay the stamp duty? We've already reduced the price and with there being a big leap in prices to a house we need to get as much money for this maisonette as we can?

    Thanks
