Mother and baby magazine....getting calls that wont stop!

Apparently I filled in a survey on Mother and Baby website yesterday (I don't remember filling in a survey but I enter loads so may have!)

Anyway yesterday I got a call from someone saying they had got my details from M&B magazine and were trying to get me to buy life insurance, I told them I wasn't interested but the guy kept going on so I hung up.
That same day they called back another 3 times.

This morning same guy called again. I told him (not very politely this time) to leave me alone.
So far today they have called over 20 TIMES :mad:
I've had to unplug my phone.
Surely this is harassment??
Anyone know how I can make the calls stop?
I need my phone on in case my mum or anyone needs me.

Do they show a phone number or are they witheld?

Can you get as much info from them as possible next time they phone, company name/contact telephone number/name of person calling?

Log every call they make and report to TPS if you are registered with them. Tell the company phoning you have reported them (even if you haven't/don't)

It may need you to be very rude to them, (which isn't nice or easy for some of us) but I find something along the lines of....

"If you phone this number again I will come up to (XYZ office) and personally insert this phone into you!" add expletives to suit usually works for me.

I used to be polite but not any more. They are phoning me, without my permission to sell stuff I don't want and wasting my time so I am now mad swearing woman

They call from a withheld number.

I cant quite catch the company, they talk with a heavy northern accent and talk really fast.

I think I'll plug my phone in and if they call again ask them to spell out what company they are!

It's just annoying because if you tell them politely you don't want what they are selling they shouldn't keep calling, I'm not going to change my mind!

British Gas were like this with me, ignoring requests, calling a few times a day - I threatened them with a harrassment case and they stopped after that.

I'd complain to Mother&Baby, as the survey was on their site- according to the caller.

It's not good PR for them.

If it is a company they've tied up with, then they should be able to contact them about it.

You could try saying "hang on just one second, just got to turn the iron off (or similar) and just don't go back to the phone. Eventually they'll have to hang up. But not sure if this will stop them phoning again though. Going down the TPS route might help as already suggested - but you must get them to identify themselves - they should be telling you what company they are as soon as you pick up - by law (assuming they are UK based)

You could always get them to write you off. Say lovely, let's get a quote, then tell them you're 30 stone, smoke 80 a day and drink a bottle of whisky a day...
