Thanks Svenena
I did actually try that last night before I went to bed and in fact I have over 2500 likes!! I hovered over all the tiles and the above three options I listed above were the only options available when I hovered over the word "like" on the tile. Again the option of "show in newsfeed" was not there at all. It is a complete mystery.
I even tried Pringles as you said you used Pringles in your example and I had forgot I had actually liked Pringles as haven't seen anything on my newsfeed from them for ages and just the same, only the above three options. :mad:The best things in life are free.....0 -
As somebody who runs a company page as well I think the issue is one to do with Facebook and its attempts to get companies to pay further money for feeds to show
When posting I get messages informing me that it only went to a certain percentage of my followers now with the idea being I think that if I upgrade it then it will go to everyoneJuly 2015 Wins- Shaun The Sheep Goody Bag, 4x Books
Year to date: £786
Total to date ( Since 2008 ) = £37,345 :eek:0 -
Mmmm makes you wonder doesn't it and it really wouldn't surprise me. I have noticed it has got worse over the last few weeks and yesterday was just the worst it has been. The best things in life are free.....0

I have competitions and companies I like put into interest lists so that I don't miss any posts because of Facebook's feed system.
But the last couple of days I've noticed even that is missing stuff.0 -
Something else interesting. I use Netvibes as my homepage at work in which I have a "facebook" application on it which allows me to view my timeline in miniature. I have just opened it up and compared the newsfeed on my Netvibes app and the newsfeed on my normal internet Facebook page (which again has had hardly any new company stories today) and unbelievable how many company posts are on my netvibes feed and not on my main facebook page.
So, I have come to the conclusion that this is a facebook problem and not something in my setting. The best things in life are free.....0 -
They sometimes trial new ways of doing things on a random selection of users, so perhaps you have been a victim of this? Maybe they are yet again planning to change how we choose what to see and not to see and we will all lose the "show in news feed option" eventually. Could be to do with revenue, as tranmere says.
Can you use this netvibes thing as a workaround? Must be so annoying not being able to see stuff you want to. I'm the opposite - I have everything hidden on my news feed, except for posts from my friends0 -
Well just an update (newsfeed still as bad) however today when I hover over the "like" button for companies I like it has now changed.
I now have:
Get Notifications
Following (which is ticked)
Settings (this is a new one)
Add to Interest Lists
Unlike
The addition in there is "settings" so when I click on that you have the options of:
All updates
Most updates (which is ticked)
Only important
It would appear the default is "most updates" so I have changed some companies to all updates although not sure if it will make any difference as refreshing the page they still don't appear on my main newsfeed but are showing in my Netvibes app :mad:The best things in life are free.....0 -
I noticed something new on Facebook today too. When I click on an individual post on my news feed (which I frequently do on company pages, to click the 'hide all updates from...' option), there is now an option which says "Take a survey to improve news feed".
I haven't done it yet, so I don't know what it involves or what impact it might have...0 -

Mmm just had a look on a company page but I'm not getting that option. Typical when I could give them piece of my mind :rotfl:The best things in life are free.....0
