Scottish Power are Awful

Has anyone else had problems closing their account with Scottish Power. Switched to them less than year aso to save money and have ended up spending more than if I stayed with previous supplier.
Moved house a month ago so closed the saccount with final meter readings. Have now given these twice after spending 45 minutes on hold having previously held for 50 minutes only to be cut off by the woman at the other end.
Have sent 2 e-mails of complaint and have had no response. Just on the phone now to find out where my credit is to find out that they still haven't closed my account and I have a to wait another week for a final bill.
They have provided the worst service of anyone I have ever dealt with for anything.

If the rate you signed up for was lower than the previous supplier (and fixed), then the only way you've spent more is if you've used more.
If they haven't resolved the complaint to your satisfaction after 8 weeks of making it, take it to the ombudsman.0 -
I have just joined them and now found out just how awful they are. We sadly not alone others have stated on there FB page, twitter and review site about how incompetent there CS is. They obviously dont have enough staff to man the calls
I tried to get them to call me twice yesterday but alas there call back system isnt working properly either0 -

I also am waiting for a credit refund from Scottish Power and have experienced a total lack of response from their "Dedicated" Customer Care Team. My e-mails have not been answered and after waiting many hours to get through to various people, they are not able to access my "closed" account and put have me on transfer.
After waiting 45 minutes I have finally been able to raise a compliant. I was told to expect a response in the next 5 working days!
Also I'll see what happens with the social@scottishpower.com email suggestion.
This is the worst customer care I have experienced since NTL(Virgin) Cable TV. I have been switching energy company since all this began. Scottish Power will never be used for my comparison check ever again!0 -
Been trying to get in touch with Scottish Power for nigh on a week, been on the phone multiple times for over 30 minutes, requested callbacks, messaged them on Twitter, sent them a message on Facebook and now emailing them.
We've moved into a new property that is on a meter with Scottish Power for both gas and electricity and simply want to move to quarterly billing.0
