re-opening smile account. Maybe?

I have transferred happily to halifax and all is smooth, all the direct debits and incomings are flowing correctly. I am now thinking that it is a good idea to have a secondary bank account, just in case, all eggs in one basket etc but halifax will be my main account
Smile current was closed by halifax and I was ok with that. What do you think? I still have the smile cc fully functioning. Is is possible to re-open smile current and just transfer a bit of money in, perhaps enough to service the visa card each month. I destroyed the current acc card and cheques

You can have as many current accounts as you wish.
If Smile won't reopen your previous account then just ask to open a new one with them.
Some people are very anti Smile because they belong to Co-op bank but in fairness I have held an account with Smile since they launched and always found them to be good although they pay rubbish interest rates on saving accounts!
Rather than switching current accounts I prefer to open a new account and keep the old account open as a back up.0
