What methods can an energy company notify you of price increase
Hi there I was just wondering if energy suppliers have to write to you to notify you of a price increase, or is simply announcing a price rise to the media sufficient.
I joined M&S energy before they announced their price rise, but have still not received any notification from them that the prices have risen.
Their website states that existing customers should have received a letter by the 15th of October, I officially moved over to M&S on the first of October and have not received any notification of a price increase.
They still haven't listed the initial meter readings online so I can't even check if they are charging me at the new rates.

Have you checked your online account for messages, spam folder for emails?
They don't have to inform you by letter. No free lunch, and no free laptop

If you signed up for M&S energy's cheapest tariff at the time - fix and save - you won't be getting a notice because it's a fixed price deal and there is no increase.0

I've checked my emails and I haven't received notification via email0

I signed up for their standard tariff, £105 cashback + £30 M&S vouchers was an offer to good to refuse.
I knew there was a price rise coming, I normally wait until I'm notified then switch as I then stay on the lower rate until the switch goes through, as I haven't been informed yet I haven't switched to another provider yet.0
