Good morning,
:grouphug: NPM good to see you back
In my pseudo Victorian advent calendar - well, I'm not sure what it is as it is tiny but I think its a holly wreath for the train's bumper (wrong word I know - the round sticking out bits that bang together when shunting) I want sistercas's calendar!
The cleaners were wonderful yesterday - not quite acrobatic but determined. The picture rails are no longer fluffy, my bathroom shines, and opening the oven door is almost a religious experience.
Before they came I spent ages scuttling round putting things away or shoving them in the attic. So the house is ready to decorate for Christmas - once I finish the last 20 papers.
Off to push my red pen x
edit to add: Tru - I'm still singing...!I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0 -
Hi everyone,
NPM, good to see you back, sorry you have been having a hard time lately.
Molly, I missed what has happened, if it is more than the usual grotty stuff you have to deal with, but I hope things get better. Is DS ok, I know you were hoping he would be coming home.
NMLC - I wish employers would see how counter-productive this policy is, not to mention that it actually wrecks the lives of people. For all those who have to have time off with minor illness because they're tired there are a few whose health totally breaks down with the stress!
I managed the pudding yesterday and put the cake fruit in to soak. I think I'll spend a bit of time making lists today, I need to see what I've achieved so far and what I still want to do before we go away for Christmas.
Apart from that I shall continue cleaning ready for the decs to go up. I've put the advent calendar I made last year up. It's got little felt figures which I add to the calendar rather than taking away so that BY Christmas Eve it's full.0 -
Morning all
Well done JackieO on the quiz, we have our monthly one tonight usually come in top 3, all good fun for £3 each. Tonight my elf on the shelf is coming so that he can have his photo taken to send to our Aussie GD, as part of his adventures, I'm enjoying the plotting of his tricks immensely
Had a good long swim today just going up and down pool, chatting to people, you dont realise how many lengths you do!
Off to garage to rummage for dinner, getting colder here.
Hugs to those who need themCarolbee0 -

No Advent calendar for me, being diabetic
Got my x-ray appointment for 20th December at 9.15am, it is a fifteen minute appointment full pelvis and hip so we shall see what comes of it, I still say it is because the doctor has doubled my statins.
NSD today, DH said we will be better going to the farm shop on Saturday, it has really funny hours during the week, but it is a working farm so it is to be expected.
Main shop in Aldi tomorrow and I still have my vouchers from last wekk's Daily Mirror and they can be used up to close of trade tomorrowDoes anyone know if the Mirror is having vouchers in this week?
House is clean and tidy so I am going to spend the rest of the day crafting

JulieG great to hear the little one is doing well with her weight.
Molly huge hugs, hope your reading all the messages of support x
Tru and anyone else who is vaguely interested because I know I've bored my self to death! Went to the dentist who insisted she needed a second opinion before taking the tooth out sent me to see a consultant at the hospital, so after waiting around in A and E for two hours and another half an hour on the ward, one of his minions came to see me, asked the same questions as the dentist, said it was my decision if the tooth came out or not, rang the dentist and she agreed to the extraction at 3.00pm today. Could have all been done over the phone and a total waist of everyone's time. I'm so cross I don't think I should even speak when I go this afternoon. Once the tooth is gone I will never be returning to this dentist, let's hope she has nothing else to say because once it's out she will be told in no uncertain terms what I think:mad: and breath ....
In other news I'm making chicken and chorizo and bean stew with rice for tea. All our decks are up and presents wrapped. I picked up a few bits for my darling hubby who has put up with me moaning and groaning for weeks, he deserves a medal:A
Shall have a shower shortly and psych myself up for the dental torture this afternoon.
Ooh I almost forgot I've got another date for my leg op, 6 th January so not long to wait.
Have a good day all xStarted Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.

Morning All
I had a long talk with Molly on Messenger today. She is better than she was. M&D not thinking and forgetting they were a family and she was also not well hasn't helped. Told her she has to learn the word. NO. Smiling aside I hope we all remember how hard it is when M&D's get old, and try to be easy on our kids. They forget they are not free to do what they can't. NPM. She is going to IM you.
Had a good day in Town with DH, more of roam around than any major buys. Did try a faux fur coat on thinking it may be necessary over my wedding outfit. Must get going on that.
Left Skye for longer than normal, she had been fine but went manic with us when we returned, wanting fussing and cuddling, even after 5 hours would not leave us to go outside for half an hour. We have to go to Aldi today out if many basics and have the coupons
WM finished so better go. ((Hugs)), spoons all round.
Try to get back lTer. DGMember #8 of the SKI-ers Club

Morning All,
JackieO -well done, glad my prediction came true!
Julie67 - so glad you have got the extraction sorted; can't believe dentist needed a second opinion - who's tooth is it for goodness sake. At least your gum will be well healed for Christmas.
Nice quiet today for me today (I hope) as I have Blood Pressure clinic tomorrow morning. I'm sure things will be fine.
Lovely sunny day here today; have to enjoy it as stormy wintry conditions coming in tomorrow.
Have a good day everyone :beer:0 -
NPM (((HUGS))) and posi-vibes, mate. I too struggle daily with suicidal ideation, so I totally know how that feels. One day at a time, my friend.:o
DG thanks for the update on Molly; I wish I could do more than just send posi-vibes for her, she's had such a lot on her plate.
:rotfl: @ Skye going manic - yes, that's a Spaniel for you.:D We've got a Spaniel over the Xmas hols - Lizzie; she's stayed with us before, so we know pretty much what to expect.
JackieO :T well done on winning the quiz.
Julie roll on three o'clock, I guess! Though, if there was any justice, it'd have been a half past two appointment. As in "tooth-hurty"
I'll get my coat.If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Good afternoon everyone
Not sure what happened to my posts today but the early morning one and one I made a bit later seem to have vanished .... or maybe never appeared in the first place.
Roof work started yesterday but am a bit worried about feedback received from builder last night about a supporting gallows beam which our neighbours decided to remove. Oh well, if it's bad news at least we are in a position to pay for the work next month but it's really earmarked for paying off endowment shortfall and debt. More news tonight ....
Better get back to work, this is a sneaky visit
Well wishes for all sick people and pets and hugs for those who need or just want them. Keep well, safe and warm and have a super dayLBM 10/1/12 ~ DFW Start 6/2/12: £82,344 ~ Now Zero:staradmin:starmod::staradmin Debt free 17th April 2015 :staradmin:starmod::staradmin

Afternoon all
Julie - glad you got your tooth sorted in the end.
JackieO - you are busy!
Took a trip to Asda this morning to look at the non food stuff and then went on to the Priory to write a message for my Mum in the book of remeberance. The weather couldn't decide if it wanted to rain or shine, so had a little drizzle and some sunny breaks. It was very nice sitting in the Peace garden
DS2 has gone to a Geography conference in London today which finishes at 4.15 so he won't be home until about six. DH has gone fishing so dinner will be sausage, chips and beans.
I've got invigilating tomorrow morning, I think it's year 11 mocks. I just hope they are short exams, anything more than an hour and a half and I am in danger of talking to myself out loud!!
Have a good evening all0
