This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine.

[FONT=Verdana, sans-serif]I was reading about chickens the other day and came across something called the Deep Litter Method. It's really just a fancy name for Not Cleaning The Chicken Shed :D Apparantly if you just leave it and add the occasional layer of straw, it generates heat to keep the chickens warm and turns to fabulous compost. Obviously I've picked the wrong time of year to start this :D I haven't cleaned it out for almost two weeks, and it doesn't smell any worse than when I cleaned it daily.

Good Morning all, Yay :):) we won last night at the pub quiz ,only by one point but a win all the same :):)
We had a bottle of wine between 6 of us so we donated it to the Christmas raffle. Its not the prize that matters its coming so close for weeks and finally doing it :):) Great night had by all, roll on next week.Super night out, with lots of laughter and costs very little as well, what more could you want :):)
School run shortly then I promised to take DGD Holly to her dental appointment, I do nearly all the Dentist,Doctor and hospital runs for the family I think I should have a red cross on my car :):)I don't mind really it helps their Mums out and I have the time during the say so they don't have time from work. We'll probably go for a coffee afterwards and I have lots of vouchers from my Dobbies card so that will be a freebie as well.Great value joining Dobbies as you get lots of free vouchers and money of discounts and at around a tenner a year it is more than paid for by the freebie coffees if nothing else :):)
Hope everyone has a good day
Wrap up warm though I think the weather is going to get colder.
My arm is progressing well and slowly reducing in size, thank goodness for anti-bio's

Fish fed, hubby & I have a cuppa each, I'm really struggling with the free porridge from work, yesterday you could have used it to fix fence posts, it was solid & didn't fall out of the bowl even when the bowl was turned upside down, it's only made with water, so it's not like they are having to economise on the milk.
Tru, thank you your carol starts my day with a smile, my SIL set up remote access to his parents laptop as the mucked it up so often.
    Hugs to Molly & LW.
DD2 went for an interview y'day & got the job, DD1 had another scan and both babe's are coming along nicely
    Have a good day everyone.

    Morning everyone

Hugs to all those that are feeling sad/poorly x

Still dark, spitting with rain, but not sure about the temperature, although last night it was feeling rather chilly.

DH up and gone to work stupid early.

Dinner last night was ham, egg and chips/jacket potato. Tonight we will be having LO roast lamb, will re-heat it in a pot of gravy, will clear up any other LO's and then do some extra veg etc. Was an easy dinner as hairdresser came and dinner was rather late but we all look much tidier now.

Work was another manic day yesterday - hoping today may be a little less busy - but not holding my breath. It's now starting to tell on some staff that we just don't have enough staff and when someone goes down ill (which because we're all stretched to the limit is becoming more regular) it put's such a strain on everyone else. The situation is not going to get better - most possibly worse, we were "restructured" this time last year and know that we'll be looked at again at some point in the future - it just gets a bit wearing when you give it everything and it's stressful and that's the thanks you get! Rant over ...!

Only working until lunchtime today, then have the normal chores to do - but am taking the car to the garage for them to fit the cat protection stuff - so will be pleased to have that job done, so I can sleep a little easier at night!

Will crack on with the normal jobs too.

    Keep safe and well x

  • Morning Everyone,

Had a busy day yesterday. We made the weigh-in as it opened at 9.30am. DD2 gained 150g in 3 days... DD1 had fun playing at the group for the first time in 9 months, and managed to hurt her finger on my pushchair... And I had to fill out an incident report anyway! I managed to make curry at DD1 naptime, which was great because at dinner time DD2 wanted feeding and DS(11) cooked the rice and reheated the curry :)

For those who worry I may overdo things, I spent the whole afternoon playing with and enjoying the girls. And after dinner DH does the kitchen so I spend the time with the children. He always does bath time too. He's a wonder :)

Anyway, today we are having leftovers for dinner, and I have some ironing to do during DD1 naptime. But that's it, I may take the girls for a walk this morning if we get the chance. But I'm still in bed cuddling the baby :D

Hope everyone has a great day today x

    Morning all,

Cooler here this morning, off to work for me and Uni for dd, I believe she is meeting her young man afterwards.

Dinner tonight will be an omelette I think, there will probably only be OH and I eating so that will be nice and quick.

Need to do another wash tonight and get that hung on the airer.

    have good days all xx

    Morning all,

A rough night here for Frog and me, I was up lots in the night and now I'm paying for it, really tired :o Frog is also very whiney and I think it's going to be hard going today.

We had the 20 week scan for Bob yesterday, all seems to be fine :D it would also appear that Frog doesn't miss much as she came with us to see the sonographer. She was then in nursery yesterday afternoon and she was running about with her top pulled up, a toy remote held to her tummy and shouting Mummy :rotfl:

Dinner will be a jacket potato and salad for me, not sure what DH will want yet. There is some stew in the freezer but he may be contrary and want something else :o

No plans as such for today, we might go and see an NCT chum this afternoon but it really depends on how Frog is.

Hope you all have a good day xx

I could not get up this morning!! Popped to Ts on my way to work got BOGOF Covent garden soups and then my clubcard voucher for 100 extra points deducted £1 from my shopping! So result.

Got to clean kitchen and bathroom today. Going to attempt cous cous stuffed peppers with salad for dinner.

    Hope everyone is okay! xx
  • Morning all:)
Been MIA for a few weeks. Having autism issues with Noah and suicjdal ideation which has been very stressful.
Last week I had flu, now DH, Noah and Asher all have it so its like I never left work lol.
Christmas presents all bought and just need organising.
Hoping to make blackberry and Pinot noir jam today for teachers and therapists presents.
    Christmas decorations all up :snow_laug:xmassmile:xmastree::santa2:
tru we used deep litter method with our girls. We used horse bedding such as Aubiose or Rapport..... It composts really quickly into rich dark compost.

Tea tonight is chicken saltimbocca, saut! potatoes and garlic green beans.... That's the plan but DH and Noah have been so ill they've had tomato soup each night for tea!
molly hope you are ok my love
