white paint on brick surfaces

friend bought house which has white overpaint on bricks due to clumsy painting, paint appears to be on there for years if not decades judging by painted doors and frames- any ideas to get rid of long standing paint?

Hi, tali. Have you tried Nitromors? It's a paint stripper, easily available from DIY shops. You paint it on thickly, leave for a while, and remove with a scraper. It may need more than one application, depending how long the paint's been there, and how thick it is.
