You didn't get a fine. And you should ignore and not contact them at all.

Thanks wiogs. Would my position change if they have my info though?

Nope, why not read all the other Scotland threads and info on the NEWBIES thread. All cases are the same in Scotland, and the Watchdog clip applies.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

  • hi everyone! they same thing happened to me last night.i never put a ticket on my van. so i got a pcn, I'm not willing to pay it as i have read all the mse stuff and it says not too. my problem is my van is leased through arval as its a works van. do you think i could just call arval and tell them not to pay any fines, or should i just pay it for an easy life. thanks

This is the one of the two situations where you do "appeal" to the PPC in Scotland. The other is if you are driving a company vehicle.

That way you identify yourself as the driver and direct all the letters to you instead of the lease co. then you simply ignore everything else they send! A PPC cannot go back to the lease co once you identify yourself. :)

And starting your own thread would have been better! :)
  • thanks pogo fish, sorry for not starting a new thread I'm new to forums so I'm still learning the rules. thanks for the advice. i will appeal tonight so they know i was the driver and ill just ignore all the threats they send me. thanks again

It is covered in the 'Newbies read this first' thread at the top of the forum. Scotland is covered and lease/hire cars are covered too, all advice is there. But I am NOT going to link it, you need to find your way around a forum or it won't work well for you. We get the same queries very often and you need to read current threads & advice 'sticky' threads.

And here's yet another thread from page one, exactly the same except the person started a new thread. You'd have seen it if you had found the first page:

Always go to page one on any forum, don't read old/random threads and think 'that's it'. See my signature (not the red words) where it tells you where to click to see page one and the sticky info threads at the top. You are always ONE click away from page one and new threads, when reading any thread on any forum at all. There is always a 'breadcrumb trail' back to page one and MSE puts it at the top, in small blue writing...
