camcorder insurance

have just bought a camcorder and trying to determine best insurance options

The company are offering a £69 policy for 33 years for accidental damage and mechanical defects

however does not cover theft or loss if i am abroad

my household policy has the option of covering personal belongings for £45 per year which includes accidental damage theft and loss and covers mobiles etc. But if i claim i have a 100 excess and it affects my no claims so is there any point?

but the only cover i want is for the camcorder for damage, loss or theft- is teh only way to get this under my household policy or are there othr options?
