They can dismiss you for any (non discriminatory) reason within the first two years of employment. They might not be too impressed if they found out.0

How could you take a morning or a day off for interview, maybe 2 or 3 without then knowing?0

A bit of a dilemma eh?
I’m curious to know whether you’re speaking hypothetically here or whether it’s a real situation? If it is real then I’m curious to know what this new enticing job is! Or is it more a case of your current job not living up to expectations?
Here’s one suggestion that you might want to bear in mind…
Think about it from the new employer’s point of view. It’s likely they’ll have a number of people to interview so will have time allocated to conduct the interviews over a couple of days or even weeks. It’s worth finding out if they would be flexible in regard to the time or day of your interview. It’s unlikely that you’ll be the only candidate who’s already working and has a limited amount of time.
What do you think?“Official Organisation Representative
I'm the National Careers Service verified representative. MSE's verified me to reply to queries about the organisation, so I can help solve issues. You can see my name on the verified companies & organisations list. I'm not allowed to tout for business at all. If your looking to move from one school to another then the recruiting school will understanding that interviewing during the school day is not possible and make arrangements to interview outside of hours.
or they limit themselves to only intervening people who do not currently work in a school or who are willing to pull a sick day.
Either way it would dramatically reduce the pool of decent candidates for the role.0 -
In the past if I've wanted to go to a job interview whilst under employment, I've asked for the appointment to either be at the start or end of the day and have said to my boss that I have a doctor or dentist appointment. A way to get around letting your employer know that you're looking at other jobs.0

Yeah I've been for 2 interviews today, knew the new job wasn't working so chucked the towel in while ahead but then I realise I didn't have a lot to lose as much as it grates, in the not so recent past I've also made the decision to leave because it isn't fair on anyone, sorry, I also think it is obvious when a new person wants time of for interviews personally I think it can be smelt a mile off0
