ebaySelling Listing & Templates Now Show HTML & Cannot Edit Text

Have ebay been messing around again or do they now require sellers to have a degree in HTML????
I have just gone to list some tools on ebay from clearing out my shed, I went to my selling templates to edit one of them to sell a set of ratchet spanners.
The template item description is now showing as HTML instead of "plain English" also all the editing options have gone, font, font size, text justification, etc...
I have done 2 listings so far, they look OK but the text of the listing description looks a load of B*LL*CK's as it is just 1 continuous block of text with full stops.
I tried to edit the listing description but no matter how many returns I put in it still looks the same.
Can someone please help, I listed some items on ebay about 2 -3 weeks ago and it was alright then, (although my templates weren't where they normally are but I found them in the end).

Returns don't work with HTML. You either need to put <br> which means break or <p> text here </p> for paragraphs.0

I had a similar problem which I posted a while ago. Still none the wiser. All of the formatting options are gone for some reason. Guess it still persists. would ebay know?0

I just did another ebay listing using the <p>, </p> & <br> and the listing looks 100% better
I can honestly say I have learnt something new today... thanks again Flyonthewall.
I have now redone my selling templates with the HTML so all I have to do now is change the description text for what ever I want to describe... Brilliant"Silence, Reverend Supermarket"0 -
Just realised I have this problem whilst trying to revise a description. Ebay help say it is to do with my browser which needs changing to Google Chrome.
Hmmm - not sure...0 -
Glad I'm not the only one. I've moved onto Google Chrome for doing listings as I had the same problem.Remember never judge someone that makes a mistake, because in six months time it may be you that makes the next mistake.0

I had problems when I upgraded to IE11.
I looked on the eBay community forum, and the suggestion there was to view eBay in compatibility settings (Tools / Compatibility view settings)
This has worked for me.Early retired - 18th December 2014

I've listed three items over the course of yesterday and today (PC, Firefox), after not listing for months. I had to opt for the 'advanced' listing editor to get back to a familiar screen but, once I had, the usual Description box was there. The only difference was that the HTML tab was to the fore - so I switched it back to the Standard tab and all my usual formatting options were there.:heartpuls Mrs Marleyboy :heartpuls

I have just finished listing some more Lego on ebay, (the first since before Christmas may I add), and they seem to have reverted back to the old style of writing the item description, no "faffing" around with HTML:mad:.
Well happy again

Formatting options are non-existent when I'm viewing in Explorer so switched to Firefox which fixed it.0

I must admit I changed my browser from IE to Chrome just after Christmas but I just checked IE and it has reverted back to the "old" way of formatting the description as well."Silence, Reverend Supermarket"0
