this obsession with propertysnake is bizarre.

Bizarre?? It's an awesome tool for cutting throught the crap that estate agents will give you. You can see how long it has been on the market and when and by how much the vendor reduces the asking price by. It's also a decent tool for getting an idea of how a certain area is performing and judging how much to offer if you are interested.

Absolutely essential, if you don't fancy getting ripped off.

Another complication is that you are not allowed to put up a board to say the flat is for sale-only an A4 piece of paper in the window. The management committee said it would look as if something was wrong if there were loads of sale boards outside. There isn't at all, it's just as the ones up for sale are all single people who are wanting to buy a house with partner. BF's name is on the deeds but MIL to be is 'doing' everything. BF is a lazy *** when it comes to doing stuff-he's happy to leave it to anyone! I'm sure we'll be OK. At least MIL to be has agreed to change estate agents and drop the price. I agree it will be the cheapest which will win out as there's not much likelihood of them all selling at the same time. He's had 4 viewings in 12 weeks and that was in the first 4 weeks and nothing since then so don't know if it's just the price or the buyers aren't out there in our area for flats. I know it's overpriced but don't people negotiate if they like something?

probably you dont want to hear this, but maybe his mother does not want the flat to sell. she probably wants her boy tied to her apron strings.

I was just thinking the same thing - I would be very wary of marrying any man whose mother has that sort of influence over him!

I know he does seem a 'mummy's boy' but I think he's just a typical male who will let a woman sort him out. I think I will take over from where his mother left off except I won't run up his back like she does. He doesn't see that much of her unless she comes round. She's the one with the problem as she needs to get a life. He's applied for a job in Canada-drastic but if that's what it takes to get away. I've lived abroad for years so I'm not bothered if he wants to live abroad-in fact I'd like it. If we can sell this flat, and either go abroad or buy a house and take it from there.
