The Hipster Tentacle Calendar competition (the “Competition”) is open to United Kingdom residents aged 18 and over only. Employees of HTC Europe Co. Ltd, Oliver Marketing Ltd, their immediate families, their agencies or any other company or persons connected with the administration of this promotion are excluded from entering.
The Competition will open at 00:01 GMT on 1 December 2013 and close at 23:59 GMT on 24th December 2013 (the “Closing Date”).
To enter go to either https://www.htc.com/uk or https://www.htchange.com/en and follow the links to the entry page. You must sign in with Facebook to enter the Competition. Complete the entry form and click to enter the game. One entry per person per day. Any person found to submitting multiple entries or attempting to submit multiple entries per day may be disqualified from the Competition.
To enter into the Competition you must play the game and complete one of the 24 words by selecting letters of the alphabet to complete the words. Every time a letter you select features in the mystery word the letters will appear in the correct place in the word to help you to complete the overall word. Every time a letter you select does not appear in the mystery word, the octopus will drop one present. If the octopus drops all of his presents then you have not won. If the octopus has any number of presents left after you have revealed the mystery word then you are a round 1 winner (“Round 1 Winner”).
If you are a Round 1 Winner you must then click on any of the remaining presents. This will reveal either a prize (“Round 1 Prize”) or an entry into one of the three grand prize draws (“Grand Prize Draws”).
The Round 1 Prizes are:
- 10 x UEFA Champions League training balls
- 10 x UEFA Trophy Key Rings
- 6 x HTC Boom Bass speakers
- 6 x HTC Battery Bar
- 75 x HTC Mug and Pen set
If, after having clicked on a present, you have been entered into one of the three Grand Prize Draws then you are eligible to win one of the six grand prizes (“Grand Prizes”). The Grand Prizes are:
- 2 x HTC One Mini
- 2 x HTC One
- 2 x HTC One Max
You will only be entered into either the Grand Prize Draw for the HTC One Mini, the Grand Prize Draw for the HTC One or the Grand Prize Draw for the HTC One Max. All Grand Prize Draws will take place on 27 December 2013 (the “Drawing Date”) and grand prize winners (“Grand Prize Winners”) will be notified by email within 10 days of the Drawing Date. It will take a maximum of 4 weeks for Grand Prize Winners to receive their prizes.
Grand Prize Winners must respond to the notification email within 72 hours. Failure to do so may result in them being disqualified and an alternative winning entrant being awarded the prize on the same basis.
By entering the Competition you agree that your name and likeness may be used by Promoter for advertising and publicity purposes, in particular to advertise the fact of you being the winner and you agree to participate in such promotional activity as the Promoter may require in each case without additional remuneration.
Prizes are non-transferable, non-exchangeable, non-refundable and there is no cash alternative to any prize offered in whole or in part. In the event of unforeseen circumstances, the Promoter reserves the right to substitute any prize for an alternative of equal or greater value.
The Promoter’s decision in all matters is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into.
The Promoter or its affiliates shall not accept responsibility if any prize cannot be awarded due to reasons beyond the Promoter’s reasonable control.
The Promoter or its affiliates shall not be liable for any damages, injuries or loss of any kind caused by the prize or resulting from awarding, acceptance, possession, use, misuse, loss or misdirection of the prize or resulting from participating in this Competition. Nothing in these terms and conditions shall limit or exclude any liability which cannot be limited or excluded under governing law.
Names of winners will be available for 28 days after the end of the Competition by sending an SAE to “Hipster Tentacle Calendar, Marketing Department” to the address below.
The Promoter complies with the standard procedures laid down in the UK Data Protection Act to ensure that the personal information you give us is kept safe and secure and processed fairly and lawfully. Promoter reserves the right to (i) cancel this Competition, (ii) cancel or refuse any individual’s entry and (iii) amend these terms and conditions (and will use reasonable endeavours to notify changes to entrants and potential entrants).
This Competition is subject to the law of England and Wales and any disputes must be brought under the jurisdiction of the courts of London, England.
