Stop the bullying practices of big energy firms
Options
Having fallen prey to the energy companies tactics I have set up a petition to try to stop them taking advantage of small companies.
If you have a second and would like to help to do something proactive about these companies then please copy the link below and sign the petition and share it on facebook
Thank you very much

Having recently taken over new commercial premises we have been hounded by energy companies and brokers, approximately 100 phone calls over the first 2 days alone, in which they will try any lie possible to get you to agree to a verbal binding contract with them.
They claim to be calling from British Gas, NPower or any of the big energy companies, and say that the contract you have already set up with them has a problem due to an error by one of their colleagues and that you need to redo the verbal contract over the phone. Once you have completed this verbal contract you are then locked into it for 3 years with no cooling off period.
They are actually working on behalf of companies such as Opus Energy, who will not let you out of the verbal contract despite obtaining it through fraudulent means and who are very agressive in their charging practices to existing customers - for example for one direct debit payment not going through Opus charges 'an undisclosed administration fee and increases supply costs by 7.5%'.0 -

Having just read the body of your petition, it would appear your gripe isn't with big energy firms whatsoever; it's with SME energy brokers and smaller suppliers.
This has been discussed on here (BES ad nauseum). OFGEM have introduced new legislation which goes live early next year (April I believe).0 -
So just say no. Select your preferred supplier and sign up with them?
A few years ago i had the misfortune to visit Malta. Some timeshare touts tried to flog me a timeshare by lying to me in the street. I just said no.
A few years back i foolishly visited Cyprus. A cockney charmer tried to sell me timeshare under the guise of offering cheap wine to go to a presentation. When i demurred, she called me a C*nt and walked off..
so then, just say no..Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0
