Divorce - problem getting financial information

Going through a divorce and soon-to-be-ex spouse is not replying to request for information.
On several separate occasions my solicitor has requested in writing to their solicitor for a copy of their financial accounts (ex-partner is self-employed).
My feeling is ex-partner is hiding accounts and has chosen simply not to supply this information.
Is there any way to force them to send this information?
Is there any other way to get this information for example would the taxman be able to supply a copy (although I do realise this might be out-of-date and so not any good)?
This might be an easier q to answer. What happens if ex-spouse just simply doesn't provide financial information, could this situation linger for months and months?
Getting desperate now, not least because the solicitor has said that their continuing charges on this will be another £1,500 / £2,000 on top of current fees.
thank you for any help:(

If your husband will not co-operate with voluntary disclosure then you will have little option other than to issue formal court proceedings. It is only with this course of action that your husband can be "forced" to co-operate.
Unfortunately, there is no quick fix to this other than to use the processes that are available to you. At least with formal court proceedings it will end up with a final order for you. The cost of all 3 hearings can be expensive so you will need to weigh up the cost/benefits.
hope that helps0 -
It does help. Thank you Littleme82.0
