Hi all, i received a parking charge on the 18.11 (so 15 days ago)
i called today to say i could pay the lower amount but not the higher amount charged as of today, but was told the only way i could do that was to appeal. i only gave the ticket number no personal info.
i got the ticket at work - nhs car park- i have a permit which was on display but not a daily scratch card (i just forgot stupidly) the parking charge is from ukpc and they observed me for 22 minutes (there is a 20 minute free parking)
where do i stand, I've read the sticky, and tons of threads, and im even more confused lol
do i appeal, do i ignore?
can i appeal on the ground of not lost income as i would of only paid £1.50 for 24 hrs and they are charging me £35/£60
thankyou for any advice

If this was a windscreen ticket you need to await the Notice to Keeper which should arrive with you between 29 and 56 days after the parking incident.
Big error in contacting the PPC just on the back of having the windscreen ticket. In fact big error in phoning a PPC at any time; communicate only in writing.
You won't be getting anything between now and the New Year, so you have time to read through the 'NEWBIES' sticky again before then. The more you know, the more you will be able to deal with this successfully. We will guide you along the way, but you will need to do a good deal of the running yourself.
In the 'Newbies' sticky there is a link to my Walk Through of the Process'. Have a go at reading that first, it is more of a quick overview before you get down to the more detailed paragraphs in the sticky.
And, yes, when I got involved in all this stuff 12 months ago, it was a somewhat overwhelming experience with lots of acronyms, technical and legal terms, but the more I read, the more I understood, and the easier I found it to advise someone off-forum how to successfully deal with their PCN (Parking Charge Notice, to save you looking it up!).
You can do this, and we'll support you along the way. Now do a bit of reading in preparation for the New Year, then get on with enjoying Christmas. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Ditto - Umkomaas above - the regular posters have all been in the same position as you at one point or another.
Fancy offering to pay UKPC the lower amount though!
Have you checked their on-line "evidence" against you yet - their pictures sometimes do not prove what the alleged contravention states.
Read also some of the other threads about UKPC and you will realise their incompetence and their problems with contracts.0 -

Please don't do that, don't offer money to scammers and don't phone them! WAIT for the Notice to Keeper of course.
Read the 'newbies read this first!' thread at the top; it makes clear how to appeal, with linked examples. Not confusing at all even though I say so myself...PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
