Beware of GreenBee

I've a really disappointing experience with GreenBee as they are suppose to be part of John Lewis and are a few quid cheaper than Expedia, I'm even more disappointed.
I tried to book a set of flights including my daughter. Initial screens on GreenBee ask you the number of adults and children in the party (under 18). When it asks for their DOB it throws out your order as the child is not a child but an adult.
I phoned for help and the nice lady said it was no problem and did the order for us.
I was really annoyed to find that they had charged us £40 as a Telesales adminsitration fee, grrrrr.
When I called the person said there was a pre-recorded message warning me of this and after a heated exchange finally agreed to look into it and would come back in 24 hours. 4 days later I heard nothing and had to phone again to said that they would waive the fee (not even an apology) and to fax the credit card statement. I am currently in discussion with John Lewis over this.
I am huge fan of John Lewis but the organisiation running this part of Green Bee are a pretty shabby bunch in my opinion, please beware !

What was the problem?
Most airlines treat anyone over 12 years old as adults.(Or at least charge as much)0 -
The problem was that they charged me £40 for the Telesales person being kind enough to solve the problem and not to warn me of this.
I accepted my daughter paid the full fare its just the web site couldn't accept my order.0 -
I had a similar problem with my 3 kids, 2 are over 12 but under 18, when I put in their date of birth, it rejected the 2 older ones but gave the opportunity to re-book them as adults without the need to phone.
However there seems to be a problem with Green Bee, may not only be them, and Virgin as the booking has gone through as 5 Adults, even though Virgins site says 4 ads and 1 child and it has been charged as that, when I enter the API for the USA it says the child is the wrong class of passenger and wont allow me to proceed. Both Virgin and GreenBee have said we can do the API stuff at check-in but we wont be able to check-in online, which I was hoping to do.0 -
Greenbee are just Expedia in a John Lewis wrapper. Its Expedia who do all the bookings aka wwe0

But the charges are different, so if you find something you like on www.expedia.co.uk, clear the cookies and then check the price on Greenbee, the charges may be lower, also if you have a John Lewis credit card you may get more points booking at Greenbee.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0
