Best Instant Access Savings Account

Hi,
I'm a recent graduate just starting a law conversion course. I receive a living grant three times a year which is currently going into my current account (my student acct with Natwest). I am uncomfortable having large amounts of money in the current account- partly for controlling my own output, and partly because i would like that money to earn some interest somewhere else.
Does anyone have a similar situation or advice on which instant access savings account to go for- i'm finding it difficult to compare different options on different levels.
Thanks!

Best instant access accounts are some current accounts these days - Santander, Lloyds, BOS, TSB, Nationwide, Clydesdale and Yorkshire bank all do interest paying ones. You can get 3% upwards right now.
Best Savings account will pay around 1.6% max.
You could also look at cash ISAs but I think the most you get there these days is some 1.8%.
Be aware of bonus rates on most savings accounts.0 -
