I have Zone Alarm free and AVG free plus SpamPal, plus something called Scotty (not sure what it does). I looked on Zone Alarm and it says there is no anti-virus running  , but according to avg all is well??
Question is who's telling the truth....
(But i also have a Panda anti-virus which i haven't installed yet, should i put this on as well or will it make things too complicated.)
My aol says that it has detected anti-virus software running so i'm unsure as to whats going on.
What do you think, any advice welcome...

Zone Alarm (non-pro) just checks the websites of centain anti-virus software to see if a new version is available. This is termed anti virus monitoring. AVG can do this automatically. It asks Zone Alarm to ask for permission each time before accessing the net however.

Not if you give it unfettered permission it doesn't"Success is not to be measured by the position someone has reached in life, but the obstacles he has overcome while trying to succeed." Booker T. Washington

You should consider putting some spyware detection software on your computer to stay a bit safer. Try Adaware and Spybot as a minimum. How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?
