Student bank account help please...

I need to open a bank account for my daughter who is nearly 16. There are several accounts for 11-16 year olds with a debit card facility which is what I wanted.
The problem is, we have debts, lots of them and our credit rating is shot to pieces.
Is it likely that our daughter will be declined a bank account now and in the future due to our situation ? We have a basic account ourselves, but that bank does not offer a debit card facility for minors , so we will need to approach other banks. As these accounts need to be opened in branch rather than online , I am concerned about taking her with me to open the account only to be declined because of our situation.
Am I worrying for nothing ? Has anybody any experience of opening an account for a minor whilst on a DMP please ?

Sorry but as OP s daughter is only 16 the student section is NOT the place to post here.
She can use her birth certificate as ID but will have someone over 18 to confirm her address. Any relatives have bank accounts with the bank concerned?0 -

The accounts I am referring to are those such as H@lif@x expresscash or cardcash which are aimed at 11-15 and16/17 year olds. Neither offer an overdraft facility and it would only be for occasional usage in certain situations.

If not you need to take ID AND address confirmation to ID yourselves as well as daughter.

Our mortgage is with Halifax but we don't hold any other accounts . Hopefully all will be ok .
