I applied for an upgrade on my wife's mobility element to the higher rate at the end of October assuming she'd be switched to PIP because I had a deadline date of the 8th. My phone call was Friday 25th and the operator said no, it would still be DLA because the deadline had been pushed out to the 28th. So I was just in time. I needn't have worried because what the operator didn't know as she spoke was that DWP were putting it back again over the weekend. So the upshot is, don't make any assumptions about roll-out dates...it seems to be a moving target depending on where you live.
I got the upgrade by the way, just over a week after returning the forms and supporting material. So the DWP CAN get it right sometimes! Must admit though, I WAS gobsmacked at the speed 'cos the acknowledgement letter only came the day before the decision letter and they'd said allow 11 weeks!0 -
