Have just uninstalled AVAST free anti virus (via Control panel and am left with a file AVAST!Free A.V. Freedownload packages. When I click on this to uninstall it it brings up a small window showing WebConnect 3.0.0. uninstall and a box to tick to remove this manager from add/remove programs.This programme does show up in add/remove programs with an entry for 806kb version 3. Is this ok to uninstall.

A quick google says it's a browser toolbar and possible malware (it only displays advertising as far as I can make out).
You can get rid of it quite happily.:wall: Flagellation, necrophilia and bestiality - Am I flogging a dead horse? :wall:
